- Architecture: SLC/SLMC radio switching cards installed directly in OS4000 chassis — full PBX integration, no separate server or software required; BS4 and BS5 base stations connect to the system via SLC/SLMC; each base station has 12 voice channel capacity; multi-cell technology delivers seamless building-wide or campus-wide coverage
- Connectivity: direct connection to OS4000 via TDM digital interface — no IP network, SIP server or IP infrastructure required; existing TDM cabling can be reused; outdoor base station enclosure for external coverage
- Management tools: centralized management via OpenScape 4000 Manager (DECT management within OS4000's own interface); CATool V7 — Cordless Administration Tool for initial setup, expansion packages and statistics evaluation (Windows XP 32-bit / Win7 32/64-bit); Virtual SLC — pure software-based DECT user provisioning without hardware dependency (redundant configuration option)
- Features — OS4000 integration depth: handsets use the full OS4000 feature set; OpenScape UC One Number Service/Device (reachability on one number across multiple devices, outgoing dialing via OpenScape UC client); Automatic Relocation — user data moved from node A to node B via OS4000 Manager without re-login; LDAP enterprise phonebook access from handset (Easy Services — available even in consultation hold state); call forwarding status displayed on idle terminal
- Security and quality: DECT encryption (standard DECT security); re-keying — additional security layer by re-keying the active call every minute; Eco DECT support (OpenStage Eco DECT, activation shown by green antenna icon on handset); DECT/GAP standard compliance — third-party DECT/GAP handsets can connect
- OScAR integration: alarm text messages to handsets (man-down, fire, technical failure, etc.); DECT handset position fixing via OScAR alarm server; ISS (Interruption-free handover between different cordless nodes) for seamless handover in large multi-node installations
- Supported handsets: S6 (standard office DECT), SL6 professional (slim premium DECT), OpenStage M3 family (industrial, IP65, ATEX — M3/M3 Plus/M3 Ex/M3 Ex Plus); third-party DECT/GAP terminal connectivity also supported
- Use cases: healthcare (nurse call, man-down, patient tracking), industry (ATEX zones, noisy environments), hospitality, campus, port/airport, logistics; adding wireless mobility to existing OS4000 while preserving TDM infrastructure
